Subject: | Safe Sun Times | |
My sister is a sun worshipper and she assures me strongly that beyond about 5pm you are unlikely to tan, let alone burn. However I have incredibly fair skin and just don't trust that. Is there a time when the sun becomes 'safe'? |

When its sleeping (night time)? :) Really I have heard that too but I have still managed getting a small tan in evening hours, when the sun is still out, kind of, but not nearly as much as during the day time. |

Yes, it is much safer to be outside in the evening, late afternoon or even early morning. But, I would still take precautions until about 7 pm. I do try to get out and get a little sun everyday, as Philbo pointed out our bodies need some direct sunlight to be healthy. Of course, all things in moderation. |

I have an olive complexion and don't burn very easily. I can get a sunburn but I have to be really stupid about it. When summer comes I am ok if I stay out of the sun between 11:00AM and 3:00PM until my tan builds up. Once I have a good tan it doesn't matter how long I stay out in the sun. |

Yes, I am aware of the need for sun exposure-however, on a normal day that isn't overly dull or overcast, sun exposure on exposed hands and face is enough after about ten to fifteen minutes-you don't need to cook to get your vitamins! |
