If there aren't any stores with organic produce near you, you might try and find a farmer's market that is in your area. These are usually open air markets. That way the organic farmers in your area have outdoor stalls where they sell their good products to their neighbors. Here is a link to find out where there might be a Farmer's Market near you: http://www.ams.usda.gov/AMSv1.0/ams.fetchTemplateData.do?template=TemplateC&navID=FarmersMarkets&rightNav1=FarmersMarkets&topNav=&leftNav=WholesaleandFarmersMarkets&page=WFMFarmersMarketsHome&description=Farmers%20Markets&acct=frmrdirmkt You can also try to find if there are any food Co-ops around your area. These usually ask that you help out some, but as a member you can get your hands on great produce. Here's a link that will help: http://www.coopdirectory.org/ |

I would love to be able to eat organically, but it can be so expensive too, and also very rare in my part of the world. I have thougt of growing my own, but that will also come with its own complications. |

I would love to be able to eat organically, but it is too expensive. Even non-organic is getting too expensive. We haven't bought fresh fruit or veggies from the store in weeks! We are growing some veggies in our garden, so that will help. I will also be saving some seeds to grow next year and canning any extra. There is very little organic food available in at my local stores, we also have to travel about 20 miles to get to an organic food store. We do have a great farmer's market though and some of it is organically grown. |

Even locally grown food thats not organic is more likely to be more natural than store bought produce. Smaller farms are able to keep on top of produce instead of just spraying pesticides for a "just in case" pest thats common. I don't normally buy organic, but I do buy from a local farm that sells their own produce most of the year and is supplied by an equal quality farm the rest of the time. |
