They say that mosquitoes can tell who to bite by the carbon dioxide that the person breaths out. Some people have something in their breath that calls to the biters and some don't. My mother always had bites while my father never did. We always joked that it must be her sweet diabetic blood that the insects loved. But then again, when my sister had diabetes she never got bitten. |

I remember hearing storys like the sweetness of a person too, as I am one that is always bitten and oddly I react with a larger than most bite. Makes me think I am allergic but other than larger than most bites and a tad more itchy it doesnt bother me too much. |

I am always the one to get bitten too. I always thought it was a female vs. male thing, as they like my mom too. I will say that applying heat right away takes away the sting: the poison is thermophilic and can be neutralized. But it must be right away and before you itch it. |

A couple of natural ways to keep the little buggers away is to consume garlic or vitamin B12 on a regular basis. Both emit a smell through your skin that the stay away from. George |

I also get bitten a lot by mosquitoes. I hate them! I have heard that people with elevated cholesterol levels are the most attractive to mosquitoes. I've often wondered if it has anything to do with being really fair skinned. |

Right now I am fighting off the mosquitos. They come out in the early evening, round about sunset and seem to have a feast on me. Sometimes I wonder if I will catch some disease. |

My 16-month-old son gets bit the second he goes outside. The bites swell up and sometimes ooze and crust over. They look terrible, almost like a bad chicken pox, and he acts like they hurt. The doctor says he is allergic to them. I do not want to put DEET on him, but I also don't want him to keep getting bit. Other than eating more garlic (we eat alot of garlic already) and B12, what would you suggest doing? |

I have not had much luck with repellents except for off deep woods and I burn candles that seem to work well that ward off mosquitos. I heard that avon has a cream that works well I do not know if it does though. |

You must apply lotion all the time. Clean all your sorroundings so that your place is free from mosquitoes. Are you familiar of OFF lotion? It's very affordable and effective. Try it! |
