For your children, this is something I can not get anyone to agree on, so lets start the debate. If you did dumb things in your life (drinking, parties, drugs) would you tell your kids to make sure they don't do the same? |

I try to just show a good example. I made bad chocies when I was young and kids will to. It's part of life. I just try to set a good example and hope they will follow. |

I would always point out the negatives of the bad things and hope they will choose differently. But at the end of the day, some will just go out and experiment, regardless of what you say. I also try my best to set a good example and hope my kids will follow suit. |

Do either of you think there is a certain age when you should just spill the beans and explain as an adult to your child (in their teen years) what you have done and what you have seen first hand as someone's choices made? |
