Subject: Itching

This winter I itch like never before. I'm not sure why. I've tried moisturizers and even baby powder but everything only seems to help for awhile. I don't find my skin especially dry and I am not developing a rash. I have heard of Gold Bond anti itching powder. Tempted to try it. Does anyone have any experience with this product or have other suggestions.

Many people are especially sensitive to the dry air of winter caused by needing to use the heat. Try running a humidifier to get some moisture back into the air in the room you spend the most time in. Gold Bond products are very good but I would try one of their creams or lotions versus the powder, simply because powder can be drying.

Have been using a humidifier since the beginning of the winter and it seems to have no bearing on whether I itch or not or how much. I suspect it might have something to do with wearing more restrictive clothing. Might be sensitive to certain types of fabric. Haven't figured anything out yet though. Still just guessing.

If its that bad I would get an anti itch cream rather than a powder, which in itself will help to dry your skin even more. It's just miserable when it gets bad isn't it! I get it too, so does my daughter.

A lot of people suffer from dry skin this time of year, including me. I can usually control the itch by applying lotion twice a day, after my bath and before going to bed. I have to agree with the others that recommend avoiding powder as this will dry the skin even more.
