Subject: Is your job making you ill?

i just got fired from my job. It was inter office politics and well. it a two edged sword.I am glad, because the job was becoming aheadache. I just could not afce getting up and going anymore. hubby and I woudl be out for hours and hours and we basically could do no work, but was paid to stand around.

I developed vericose veins and felt exhausted and hubby is developing some problems as well.

So heres a question, is your job making you ill? have you noticed more problems stemming from your job than before?

Of course it is--- My job is stressful most times- and we know what stress does to our body.

Also they have not cleaned the air ducts in forever- so I'm always sneezing and having alergic reactions.

Sometime ago I listened to a news item on 'sick office syndrome' - and thought that it was pretty off the wall. I don't think so anymore. Every workday, I get up feeling stressed as soon as I realise I have to go to work - and it never used to be like that. As soon as work is over, I'm fine.

I had a friend who worked for McDonalds who became sick while working there. Come to find out, two gay men were harrasing her and it was causing her to stress out and become sick. She quit and went to work at Family Dollar Store and now she's fine.

Most jobs are stresful. That's why they are called a job and you get paid for it. However, if you find a job that you really like, then you will be very happy and will ignore all the associated inconvenience in it. But very few people manage to find a job that they really like.

A big part of these things are people thinking life is easy and not being used to hard work and making due with what they can get instead of what they would like. I've worked plenty of jobs I hated based on premise but I always smiled and found ways to enjoy myself and never got sick from a job. But I was brought up better than to whine and cause myself to make myself sick just to not go to work or school.

I think that stress in the workplace is on the increase and stress can cause all sorts of reactions to different people.

I'm very lucky of my current job. I'm working as an office clerk of trading company for a year. I'm doing some paperwork as well as encoding datas. I love my job because I can surf anytime I want.
