Subject: | Healthiest Pizza? | |
What would you consider to be the healthiest variety of pizza, assuming that you're having pizza? We order whole wheat thin crust, and try to add some vegetables for toppings rather than extra meat. So we may get pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and olives on cheese and tomato sauce. |

Sounds good but I would add onion, cilantro, garlic, and use Amy's low sodium organic marinara sauce with a multi-grain thin crust for the ultimate pizza! |

I don't worry about pizza. I have it rarely, and as a treat in an otherwise strict, healthy diet. I don't think that anything as a once in a while treat is a bad thing, so I get what I enjoy, guilt free. |

I'm much like Dogget. Whenever I have a crave for pizza, it's for the biggest and most loaded that I can afford. I don't even like veggie pizzas either. |

Maybe it's just me but healthy and pizza should never be used in the same sentence...lol. That just takes all the fun out of eating pizza. I'm with a couple of other posters - if eaten in moderation, get what you want and live it up. |

The pizza I used to get, when I ate pizza, was from Rococo's the best pizza place in Brooklyn, was light on the cheese, extra green pepper, broccoli and spinach. I think it was the best tasting pizza I have ever eaten. Gee, it's been 8 years since I've had any pizza at all other then my own version. And my version is really just a huge portion of steamed veggies with spaghetti sauce and pizza spices on top with an ounce of mozzarella on top of the dish. Not as good as Rocco's. But I did lose a lot of weight. |

We get a special crust at the store that has lower fat, we add FF mozzarella cheese, pineapple, and mushrooms. My Husband has to have low fat and this is ok'd by his DR. |

Be careful when your order for veggie pizzas I know that not all who work in the kitchens will swap the dough out unless you tell them to do so specifically. |

To be honest I don't think I could put together a "healthy pizza". Everytim I eat pizza I feel completely greasy, because it is so high in fat and grease. I also feel like I'm gaining a million pounds with every bite I take, so I don't really think there is such thing as a healthy pizza! |

I'm craving in this board. Pizza is my favorite food especially the honey garlic flavor. But if you'll ask me for healthy pizza, used fresh vegetables as your toppings. |
