Subject: | Frostbite | |
It hasn't happened yet but it came close today. I had to walk home, because my lift let me down and by the time I got home my hands were suffering. How do you treat frostbite if you end up suffering from it? |

Most times seeking medical help is the best thing you can do for yourself. If you can get your hands warm again, with the help of being soaked in warm water to allow the hands to thaw out is another way until you can get proper care. I had a problem with this as a child and my hands still kind of "freak out" when the cold sets in. |

Actually you have to be really careful with warm water that it is not too warm, so that it doesn't do more damage. You shouldn't warm them up too fast or you risk making things worse. The best thing is body temperature-putting hands under your armpits, or trying somehow to get your feet under your-or have someone else cup them with their hands. |
