Subject: Food addiction food allergy connection

When i was at AIHT, we learned about food addiction which was really a hidden food allergy. thatis it worked like a loop:

you crave a food. in most people that craving is satisfied and teh craving stops. However in some cases it releases histamines that create a new craving and histamines develope into higher levels. In some cases it can cause anaphalaxia.

So we discussed hwo many foods cant we do without, as far as cravings go. could this be a hiddena llergy.

In our classw e did an experiment: we charted foods we adored, loved, could eat everyday without stopping. foods that amde us feel good and if we didnt get it we felt crummy.

we charted that for 7 days. at the end of 7 days we tried to go without it. and we began to feel awful.

so then we started keeping track of food we really craved and we ate one portiona nd took an anti histamine, those that took an antihistamine stopped at one small serving and were saited, while those who did not, kept eating teh craved foods and they charted their eactions.

Reactions went from irritability, hives, swelling in tonguem gums, cheeks, eyes, itchy eye, itchy gums and toungue, irritable bowel, headaches, migraines, nose bleeds etc.

what we conluded after doing this for amonth that some fofods that people are addicted to, and absolutley crave and cant live without may actually be a hidden allergic reaction.

You have to remember that allergies can be built up. So while you may not be allergic at birth or after the first bite the 50th bite may have built up enough to cause a reaction that is mild and the 200th one bad enough to kill you.
