Subject: | Emotional Eating | |
When I am stressed I usually don't have an appetite but recently I have noticed that I have been stressed more and that I am eating a lot more too. How can I stop over eating? |

hat kind of things are you eating? Have you tried switching switching maybe to snacking on fruits/vegatables when stressed? |

By all means, eat if you want to eat. Just avoid all fast foods or high-calorie foods. Stock your refrigerator with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and have a fruit and nut snack or a raw vegetable snack instead. This way you won't put on weight. And you will get all the nutrients you need too. In the meantime, practice some relaxation techniques. This will help you beat stress. It also helps to substitute snacking for another activity that you love. For example, instead of snacking, you can take the dog for a walk or go shopping. That helps prevent emotional eating and weight gain. |

I think that getting enough restful sleep can also help us deal with stress. I've heard that some people include soup with a meal to help them feel full with fewer calories. |

All you can do is try to keep away from the high calorie comfort foods such as chocolate, chips and cookies. |
