Subject: Do you tell The Doctor Everything

I find many times when I go to the doctor I do not tell them everything that is wrong with me just the things that hurt the most. Do other people do this as well.

I tell him everything, I feel comfortable with my doctor, he really is a nice easy guy to tell things to.

I don't tell my doctor everything on every occasion because sometimes I feel like there is so much wrong that I will seem like a hypochondriac. I only tell her the important stuff.

I usually tell my doctor everything that is wrong with me at the moment. I only go to the doctor when I really need to anyways, so there is no sense in keeping anything from her.

I haven't found a doctor that I was completely comfortable with since I left the doc I had since a baby. He was my doctor for almost 25 years, and knew all about my schooling, and would chat when I had cause to visit.

Since then I simply don't have a relationship with my doc. It's business only, so no I don't tell them everything.

No, I don't either. Here, my doctor seems so rushed, like he has 10 other patients to see at the very same time. So I just share my biggest concerns. Back home in Canada, I told my family doctor everything.

No matter how important it is, I only tell my doctor what I think he needs to know. I can't bring myself to tell him the whole awful truth about how well or how badly I am doing.

But I figure that all doctors already know that their patients aren't treating their doctor's appointments like a trip to confession, so I guess they have an idea that they have to work to get all their questions answered truthfully.

I don't think that I've ever told the doctor absolutely everything. Usually I only tell them what I personally think in relevant to that appointment. For example, if I'm there because of any aching back, I wouldn't mention a possible ear infection.

I'm not at all comfortable with doctors... I can't really put my finger on why.

When you don't tell them everything how do you expect them to properly diagnose something that could be wrong with you? I might be silly, but I tell my doctor anything that could be relevant to something new that's not normal for me.
