Almost no doctor will perform surgery nowadays on a kidney stone unless it is too big to pass naturally. They will even then usually try to smash it with either sound waves generated by a special machine or go in through the urethra with a scope. I am highly skeptical that Stone Free does anything at all for kidney stones. It might help prevent them but there is no known medication natural or artificial that will dissolve them once they have formed. I have a friend that has tried virtually everything out there to resolve his kidney stones and none of them did a thing for him except to make his wallet lighter. Some of them contained the same ingredients as Stone Free. The only ones that appeared to work are ones that claimed to help you pass the stone. Problem is the stones probably would have passed whether they took the concoction or not. My objection to the claim that they dissolve stones is that if someone has a large stone that needs to be removed via surgery they might try this stuff and delay having the problem properly addressed. This could lead to more damage to the kidney than necessary. Show me real clinical studies with results. Then you'll make me a believer. |

If a person is prone to kidney stones there are a lot of precautions they can take to keep them from coming back. Thinks like avoiding foods that cause them, have a beer a few times a week can also help. Surgery is the absolute last option any more. |

My neighbor he is 21 had a kidney stone that they let go and it has now worked its way into his bladder and is the size of a silver dollar. We took him to the hospital the other day when he was in pain and peeing blood and they said he will require surgery for sure before it gets any bigger. |

My uncle got numerous kidney stones, some they smashed but the majority went through. He said the pain was equivilant of a woman having a baby. If so, then I feel so sorry for anyone who passes kidney stones. |

I have had a size 22 cm Kidney stone, and I only have one kidney due to birth defects. Kidney Stones are absolutely the most painful thing I have had to endure. I will tell you that my urologist says if you consume beer while you have a kidney stone, your stone will grow. Why? I have no clue. I had to have 3 Lithrotripsy's done, Which is breaking up of the stone by sound waves. It took 3 of those procedures to get my stone small enough to pass. When I was going into the ER due to so much pain from the kidney stone, the doctors would do a Cat Scan and see if a stone fragment was lodged anywhere in my urinary tract. Then when they found out there wasn't one lodged, they would simply give me morphine or dalotin (spelling isn't correct), and then phenergin (spelling isn't correct) which is a anti nausea medicine. Then they would send me home with a script for pain meds and discharge me. Which I would be good until the pain meds ran out and I would be in horrible pain once again. It is a never ending battle until you actually can pass the stone. Not to mention VERY painful situation. |

I really can not imagine having to pass a stone at home, even with Stone Free. Isn't there a way they can actually break apart stones now to make them less painful to pass? |
