I am going next week and I am a little worried. I have to do a thing before dental work since I have a heart murmur and I am not sure what its called, well its something the dentist' person does but still. Also I am getting more than 1 tooth removed, which has never happened before. Are they going to gas me or something? |

Not necessarily. The majority of tooth extractions can be done with local anesthesia. I don't know much about your condition but I'm sure the utmost precautions will be taken. |

I thought it would depend on how many teeth at one time are being removed? I have have one taken out before and that was local, but if you are talking about 5+ I would think they would at least gas you or something. |

I always thought if it was less than half your mouth then they would not knock you out for it. I know some dentists do not even offer knocking you out as its considered "extra work" on their part. Make sure you have a good dentist!! |

Well it ended up being 7, yes seven and the dentist said I was the best patient he has had in quite sometime. It seems the premeds were only ampicillin or amoxicillan, one of those two, and its just to give my body an extra boost since it was going through such an ordeal all at once. There was no gas but I did taken over a dozen shots to get me numbed up. I got the stiches out this week and I go back next week for 2 fillings and a partial cast to be made. I survived. |
