Subject: | Chocolate Gives Me Headaches | |
Does anyone else have any trouble with chocolate? It seems like every time I eat chocolate, especially dark chocolate, I get a bad headache. I love chocolate but I sure don't love the headache that I have afterward. I'd appreciate any advice. |

I am so glad that chocolate does not give me migraines. That would be something akin to the end of the world for me. I do have a friend with migraines who has to steer clear of chocolate as well. It does trigger her migraines. |

Sometimes I do! My doctor told me that chocolate and red wine were at the top of the list for things which can tend to trigger migraines in some people- he is always asking me if I've had those two things when I mention I've had a migraine. I am guessing that dark chocolate might be worse for that since it's more potent. |

I never really knew chocolate could hurt a person, very interesting to know. Any chance someone here knows why people tend to get headaches after hard crying? |

I can't watch sad movies because I get very bad headaches when I cry. There is one movie that I love, but I can't watch it due to the headaches. LOL I know, silly. Chocolate, no that does not bother me in the least. |

YES! I had migraines for about a year and a half or so. Then I went to a chiropractor (for a back problem) and told him about the migraines that I was having (even before the accident with my back)...Anyhow, he asks me if i eat chocolate... I confirm "yes, alot of it"... and he proceeds to tell me that he can bet that it is the culprit and to try not eating it for awhile. I stopped and the migraines stopped. The end. I tried chocolate out again after that just to see, and voila it came back. I realized that I had changed to DARK chocolate right around the time that I started having migraines. I KNOW it is the culprit with no doubts. :) hope this helped. |

Also, for Lexi, crying hard dehydrates you and also constricts blood vessels which is why some may get a headache or even pass out after a hard cry. |
