Subject: | Carpal Tunnel | |
My husband's carpal tunnel syndrome has been acting up pretty bad lately. Does anyone know of any exercises he can do before starting his work day that might reduce his symptoms? |

I don`t know of any exercises but he could try wearing a wrist brace. I know some people that have used them. You can buy them at any drug store. |

The brace is great but can also make the arm fatigued as well. I foudn these at about and tried them when my arms got tired and they seem to relax them. http://physicaltherapy.about.com/od/flexibilityexercises/a/CTSexercise.htm I am curious if he has had a neurological evaluation yet on it and if he may also have cubital tunnel? j |

The wrist braces are wonderful and wearing them at night has helped my carpal tunnel syndrome a lot! An exercise he can do is to make a tight fist and then open his hand very, very slowly. Doing that a few times a day is supposed to help circulation in the wrist. It will also help stop the pain and numbing if he cuts down on salt. The carpal tunnel will swell more if there is an excess of water in the body. Also make sure he drinks plenty of water, so that his body won't keep excess water in his system if it feels as if he is dehydrated. He can also wear clothing that keeps his arms warm. It helps stop the pain that goes all the way up the arm at night. But the best thing is to use the wrist brace. Some are also designed to be worn during the day. I hope these suggestions help. |

What are some of the warning signs for having carpal tunnel? I have been on the computer for a long time now, and always tried to be safe about things but I still sometimes tend to worry. |
