Subject: Bloody Nose

I have been getting them at random times and nothing I can think of would be causing it. The weather is still the same, I do not think I have changed anything in my diet, whats up?

Do you have a lot of allergies or sinus issues? Because of almost constant nose blowing at times over the years, thanks to my allergies, the membranes in my nose are very thin. If this is not the issue, you may want to get your blood pressure checked. This could be your body's way of relieving some pressure.

I know that ciggy smokers tend to get more when the weather changes since its a drying out time. I know most times I get one maybe once a year but it has to be a very dry time for me.

Do you have a good humidifier for the house? Nose bleeds can frequently occur when the membranes in the nose dry out, and they split. Maybe it would help you.

Never really noticed how nose bleeds happen, they just do but if you are right that they split are they able to be repaired and can it get so bad for a person that its possible they could not be repaired?

So far the one on the 12th was my last but I am still trying to avoid jinxing things. I did go out and get a humidifier and even checked my home and work to make sure nothing has changed, but still no clue whats been causing them.

Is this a recent development or have you always had random nose bleeds? Some people have the blood vessels closer to the surface than other people and so will get a nose bleed easier. High blood pressure can also cause them as well as sinus issues, allergies or the air being too dry. Your cause could be the last if the humidifier is helping.

Its not a case of not being able to be repaired really but occasionally they won't want to stop bleeding. You end up having to go to the ER and having your nose packed with gauze to stop it-and that is really, seriously yuck!

I have had them off and on but not nearly as many as those in this past year alone. Its like the weather has just been freaking out so much I run around with half my nose (left side) clogged all the time or its sore like its going to start bleeding.

I had a friend when I was younger (during the stages of sleep overs) and he lived in a house that was heated with oil. I always ended up with nose bleeds there and I swore off ever owning a house that used oil.

And no, it just seems full on random in the past year or so. Not changed homes, states, etc. either.....
