It seems that bed bugs are becoming an issue in our local area and I am a touch concerned. How do you know if you have them in your house, and is there anything that you can do to prevent them getting in and setting up home with you?

I don't know about bed bugs prevention and I hope they don't find your home. My son and I has a tradition that when I put him to bed at nights, I say 'sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite' I didn't know there were for real.

If you have bed bugs in your house, it won't take very long for you to find out about it. They will bite and you will know it. I would not worry about it before it is a problem. If it does become a problem call an exterminator. They usually take care of that sort of thing in one go.

Can you be a little more specific about those bugs? This is the first time I have hard about that expression "bed bugs". What is their latin name?

Just Google 'bed bugs'. They are truly nasty little critters and are very, very hard to get rid of. It takes specialist help and can sometimes take several attempts as they can hide in the smallest of cracks. They can even get into the house through your power outlets. Horrible stuff.
