Subject: | Bamboo Towels? | |
What do you all think of this movement to turn bamboo into fabrics? I've heard that all the processing that goes into making bamboo into fabric essentially makes rayon thread. Does anyone else know anything about this trend? |

I don't think they are as environmentally friendly as some make them out to be. There is a lot of processing that has to go on in order to make bamboo into thread. It's not always the best thing to buy something made from natural elements if it's been processed to the max! |

I have checked them out at stores a few times, and while they are certainly soft and seem to be nice quality towels...the bamboo towels I've seen are ridiculously expensive and I just can't justify the expense. They are very nice though. |

I am still trying to figure out what the deal is with people who talk about high thread counts for sheets, and those are super expensive. I doubt I could afford this as well. |
