Subject: | Avoiding Central Heating Dry Air | |
I have a humidifier that runs at this time of year, but still we suffer the effects of the low humidity, made worse by the fact that our heating is by a central air system. Is there any way that I can stop it drying out so much-are there any humidifiers that work with the air system? |

I haven't heard of anything like that, but boy would it be useful! I certainly would like something like that. I can only suggest keeping a humidifier running all the time. |

If you are able to you could put a bowl of water in front of all of your vents. The warm air will help to carry moisture into the room. I know that this isn't practical for everyone though. |

I remember I used to live in a cruddy apartment that had some crazy oil heat and I had a humidifier in just about every room to keep from having issues when ever it ran. I am not sure there is anything, is there? |

Boil a pot or kettle of water on the stove frequently throughout the day. This will release more moisture into the air than a standard humidifier. When you shower, try leaving the door open a bit and let some of the moisture dissipate throughout the house instead of being trapped in the bathroom. Try having more plants around the place, too. They produce oxygen but also help to release moisture into the air. |

Would this work the same if you have those old radiator type furnace things? I know in some deep city apartments they still have those and they always clogged me up when I would visit with family there. |
