Subject: Auto Pharmacy

I have tried to place a refill now with my local store and it seems they no longer feel the need to answer the phone. I am not sure I like being able to place an order on the phone, what happens if you have a question? I am thinking about swapping stores.

I would if I were you. I think it is important that you are able to get ahold of someone when you have questions.

There are some areas in which customer service and speaking to an actual individual is important, and anything regarding medication, in my opinion, is one of those areas.

The place closest to my home has a horrible staff but they are the closest and I mean within a good 30+ miles so we are stuck with them. I would much rather listen to some auto stuff than deal with the idiots there.

I hate that automated system. Our pharmacy gives us the option to press "0" for an attendant and I do that to give my refill request to. I know it's annoying for them but I need to know if I don't have any more refills or if I am refilling the right bottle.

Thanks Sammy for the clarification on the "auto" system. I am reading through the posts wondering what in the world is an auto pharmacy. I thought perhaps it was referring to one of the pharmacies that deliver your meds to your home.

There is a drugstore near us that we use from time to time that has the automated system, but it does give you the option to talk to a pharmacist if needed. They also have a drive-up window, which is nice, but IMO, this contributes to the U.S. obesity rate.
