Subject: | Acne refuses to leave me! | |
I would like to be rid of acne forever, but acne refuses to leave me. I think I have tried everything on earth. I used a cream called "Vicco Turmeric." It is an ayurvedic cream comprising sandalwood and turmeric. My face became crystal clear and remained so for a few months. But, now I am getting a few pimples again. This is distressing to me. Do you have any suggestions? How do you get rid of acne for good? |

I doubt that all cases are the same, but in my case I had better results when I stopped using a washcloth to clean my face. Now I use medicated pads or dry pads with a bottled cleanser on them. |

I don't mean to discourage you but I'm nearly 49 and I still have acne. I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'll have them until the day I die and knowing me, I'll still break out even after I'm 6 feet under. :) When I was younger I tried all sorts of different treatments, but the results were often temporary. I'm convinced that many factors cause acne, including stress, where you live and what you eat. But that's just my two cents worth. |

I love Vicco. I use their toothpaste. What has worked for me is a regimen of castor oil and olive oil. I know it sounds counter intuitive, to use oil, but it works. I have it in a bottle mixed 1:1, and I massage it in at night, then gently wipe most of it off. In the morning I put a hot towel on my face and then wipe well, followed by a cold towel to close the pores. |

I've found a lower level of acne medication works. Average products use a 2% solution of salicylic acid, but .5% seems to work perfectly with my skin. I found this out using a product called Epiclear while working for the company that markets it. Oil of Olay makes a face scrub with a low level in it (not marketed for acne) that has produced identical results. |

Honestly have you tried the Proactive system? I know it does not work for everyone but my sister in law had stubborn acne that nothing seemed to help and at 36 I bought her proactive and she had a major difference in 1 week clear by week2 or 3 and stayed that way it is now 2.5 years later. |

I don't have acne really bad, but I normally get pimples when I am stressed out, sometimes during my period and when I eat greasy foods. Pastries give me acne too. |

Mine isn't horrible either but I did want to commiserate. I didn't suffer it at all until my daughter was born, at which time my hormones decided to rebel. I treat spots with alcohol and use medicated cleansing pads. |

I've heard of a lot of women getting it after having a child. |

It is possible it could be from something you are eating. I'm not sure if it is proven but from personal experience my skin clears up when I tan. |

Yeah tanning can in some instances help eliminate acne though I believe it is very temporary. |

If you find something that worked, stick to it. However, you have to continue using it as it cannot be cured. There are some expensive medications that claimed to cure acne. It treat acne from inside out.Perhaps you care to visit the website below to have a look. Well, if you are those who really want to get rid of acne once and for all, I think you should try it. Coming back to your current medication, do you know that our acne can adapt and become immune to the medications you used?
