Subject: | Abscesses that are untreated | |
I had an abscess caused by a bad tooth 1 week ago and when it started swelling and I realized that it was not just a toothache but possibly an abscess I went into the hospital to get antibiotics. Within 24hours the infection caused by my abscess had spread to my chest and sinuses and I was sicker than I remember being in a very long time. It is now a week later and I am still fighting it off. I did not realize that this could actually kill you and so wanted to share my experience and tell you go in and get checked if you have a bad toothache don't risk an abscess going untreated. |

Many people do not realize the risk with things like this. I had one before and they gave me amoxicillin which did nothing for a week other than let my face swell up even larger, I had to go back and get a stronger antibiotic. |

Any infection that enters the bloodstream or lymphatic system can spread throughout the entire body. This is one reason doctor's instruct their patients to take the entire antibiotic prescription. |

They definitely don't do enough to let people know about something like an infection causing issues. Which is sad since so many people could potentially suffer. |
