Can this make you sick for long periods of time? A friend of mine tends to travel a great deal and I am talking maybe he spends 2 months out of the year (total/combine) at his home. He is always sick and its not really something he picks up during the travel I think its just too much travel for his body to handle. |

Actually I would think it really is something he picks up abroad. Viruses mutate, and the version you find at home you may be immune to. Go to another country and it may have mutated enough that you get sick from it-so travel enough and you are always picking up nasties. |

I guess he needs to make sure he builds up his immune system. I find that when I travel I am sometimes sick for the first few days. |

Most of the time its something that is "flu like" and it does not matter where he goes, he picks up something. I started to think all the time changes and lack of proper rest was the reason. He was just in Brazil and managed to get the "flu" again, so maybe a trip to his doctor will help. |

I really doubt it in all honesty. You have to remember that there aren't vaccines for the majority of viruses, and if there are they aren't always 100% effective. Give him a few years and he will have a kicking immune system, that nothing will touch. |

What about not so much the part of picking up things but the portion of flying so much that you are changing time zones (sleep wise) and altitude so much, could that mane someone ill? |
