Subject: | What's With The Blood Pressure? | |
My husband has never really had high blood pressure but has been on one blood pressure med or another for a long time to protect his heart or so the cardiologist says. Now his blood pressure is all over the charts. One day it's 90/60 the next it's 158/92. He is having dizzy spells and fainting and I don't know what to do. His cardiologist says that everything is fine with his heart but I don't know. What should I do? |

I would get a second opinion. I don't believe that is normal for the blood pressure to fluctuate so. He may need his medication adjusted and there could also be underlying conditions making his blood pressure fluctuate. I would seek the advise of a general doctor, who would be aware of other possibilities. |

Oh dear, Berta. I would definitely have him checked out by someone else. That is nothing to take lightly. I know we want to trust our doctors explicitly. But, sometimes it is best to get a second opinion. His medication could be causing the problems. My dad is on three different blood pressure medicines. So, I know it can be difficult and you do worry about them. |
