Subject: | Take Your Blood Pressure Medication | |
High blood pressure runs in my family. My aunt had very bad blood pressure and was taking medication for it. She wasn't feeling well one day and instead of calling her doctor she called her twenty year old son. Her son told her that her blood pressure medication was making her sick and that she should stop taking it. He was not a doctor. So she stopped taking her meds and a few days later, while her husband was at work she had a stroke. She laid on the kitchen floor for hours because she couldn't get to the phone. Finally her husband came home and she was taken to the hospital where she stayed for a long time. The stroke was very bad and she was lucky she didn't die. I have no idea why she listened to her son as opposed to just calling her doctor. |

Oh my, that is terrible! I have a tough time getting my father inlaw to take his BP meds on a regular schedule too. He doesn't like that it makes him have to run to the bathroom all the time. However, my husband has a type that doesn't do this to him. I wish my father inlaw could have the same medication prescribed for him. |

That really is awful... Thank goodness nothing serious happened to her, I bet the son just felt terrible about it too. |

What a horrible thing to have happen to you. I bet that boy is eating himself up over that one. |
