I am still having some serious pain after getting my toe nail caught under a door earlier today. I have soaked it just in plain water to try and get it cleaned up and I really do not want to make a trip out to the hospital this weekend. How many people have done this before and what did you end up doing?

Did you loosen the nail or is it possible that you jammed the toe or even broke it? Sometimes you can get a small hairline fracture of a toe and it can be very painful. If the toenail is turning black you will probably loose it and that will also be very painful for awhile.

I think you just need to watch it for the time being and give the muscle some time to heal. I may be a little painful but it should eventually subside.
