Subject: | Pain Relievers | |
Hi. I have had pain for a while now. It is in my neck and back mostly, from when I worked construction a year or so ago. My medical insurance is not good so I cannot be prescribed to any pain relievers - it's too pricey for me. Does anyone know of any good pain relievers that are equal to vicodin or percocet that are available to purchase without a prescription, or online without a prescription? Thanks for your help. |

I do not believe that their is anything in a non-prescription strength for vicodin or percocet. I think that these are all class 3 narcotics, which makes them illegal to obtain without a prescription. |

I've found that two extra strength tylenol help me just about as much as my prescription for Ultram. I've never taken vicodin or percocet so don't know how effective they are on my pain. I have arthritis so have to take something just about every day. I hope you find something affordable that will work for you. |

Do you find that glucosamine helps at all with your arthritis? I guess it only helps relatively minor discomfort, but I've noticed a difference in my mild case of it. Best of luck in your search for help with this. |

Heat helps my neck a lot. If you sew, it is really cheap to make a heating pad with soft fabric and flax seeds. You just heat it in the microwave and put it where you hurt. Be careful with your neck. Damage there can get very serious very fast. Just throwing pain killers can lure you into movements that can cause permanent damage. |

I believe Cassie is right. The types of medications your asking about can't be obtained in the U.S. or Canada without a prescription. I'm not aware of any over-the-counter remedies that have the same effect. |
