Subject: | Hormones and breast cancer linked | |
We know that there are many studies going on to find the cure for breast cancer among many other diseases. It seem as if a link has been made hormone medication used during menopause are to double the chances of a woman getting breast cancer. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gP_ZvdO69_MFxESPrhLhCFDd6mBQD9523P400 |

This isn't really news. There has been a connection between hormone replacement therapy and increased breast cancer risks for decades. The balance always was that it lowered your risks of other cancer-I think it was uterine or cervical, or ovarian, and so you basically had to make a choice based on your own risks. |

Why take a risk with your health at all when you can use natural hormone replacement therapy and not have the same risks? Personally, I don't want to have to choose which part of my body I'll keep and which I'll sacrifice. |

What is natural hormone replacement therapy? I know someone who tried a natural cream that was applied to the skin that made that boast. My friend ended up going to the doctor because it was impossible to control the dosage. It ended up creating more problems than it solved. If there really is natural hormone therapy that works has anyone done a study on the risks? I'm not asking this to be confrontational. I'm just somewhat skeptical from my own experience. |

Does that mean that woman should fear the meds their doctors put them on during menopause? That is kind of what it sounds like to me. |

The meds can have risks yes, and I wouldn't take them. Get it over with-your body eventually adjusts to the lack of hormones, though things might not be completely the same again. |
