Subject: Excedrin Products

Have anyone else noticed all of the different types of Excedrin that have come out recently? I have taken it off and on for quite some time and when I saw all of the different varieties coming out I thought I'd check into them and see if they could help.

Has anyone else noticed that some of their different "types" have the same ingredients as another? Take Extra Strength Excedrin, it lists the following:

Active ingredients (in each tablet) Purposes

Acetaminophen 250 mg Pain reliever

Aspirin 250 mg Pain reliever

Caffeine 65 mg Pain reliever aid

Now look at Excedrin Migraine:

Active ingredients (in each tablet) Purposes

Acetaminophen 250 mg Pain reliever

Aspirin 250 mg Pain reliever

Caffeine 65 mg Pain reliever aid

Look familiar? This just affirms to me the need to check the labels on every medication. I'm not sure if any of the others are the same but it is definitely something to be wary of when looking for a pain reliever.

Like most products Excedrine advertises with anything they think might bring in customers.

If they think arthritis sufferers are a lot of buyers, they will just have arthritis strength on their label. Many other products do it too. Look at shampoos, many are just soap!

It is a good idea to read labels and prices. Many times the prices change and go up as if that makes the product better.

Yes, always read the labels. Pharmaceutical companies are notorious for slapping a new label on something and calling it new and improved. The sad thing is, there are many consumers out there that don't check the label and just buy it.

Wow, I've never noticed medications having the same EXACT ingredients. I'm going to have to start looking for stuff like that... I've probably been getting ripped off!

It's just a marketing strategy in my opinion and I am sure it works well for them. I will admit that the average consumer does not read labels of the items they purchase, so these guys will forever benefit from them.

I don't read labels for ingredients, but I plan to start doing so. I use excedrin migraine, I get a lot of headaches lately.

If you are getting a lot of headaches you should probably see a Dr. Have you recently reduced the amount of caffeine in your diet? That can cause headaches as it clears out of your system and the Excedrin Migraine would put some back in.

Excedrin used to have another "version" with the same incredients as the two listed but I don't see it there any longer.
