Subject: | Diabetes Vaccines? | |
I was just reading an article that stated that there is a medication (vaccine actually) that is being used to successfully in Israel, England, Hungary, Bulgaria and Germany to prevent those who are high risk from getting Type 1 diabetes and basically stopping the progression in those who have been recently diagnosed. How great would it be to not have to worry about this as much as we do these days? |

That would be wonderful. Diabetes is such a terrible disease and not have to worry about it too much would make things easier for so many people. It's so good that it helps stop the progression. |

If this vaccine were to work on Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes that would be great. This is the type of diabetes that affects children. To find something that works on Type 1 would bring us even closer to finding a vaccine for Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes. |

I'm hoping we start hearing more about this here in the states. I know so many people that could benefit greatly by a discovery like this. |

I like the idea of a vaqcccination that could help people who have diabetes. I do think for adult diabetes, it is more of a lifestyle issue though, and these issues need to be addressed too. |

Several members of my family are diabetic. I know that would be a great thing to find that would work. |

I have never heard of a vaccine for Diabetes - it seems like it would be difficult to invent just due to the fact that Diabetes is such a complex and degenerative process. |
