Subject: | Amaryl and Anxiety | |
I was taking Amaryl for my diabetes when I started having panic attacks. I did not associate the attacks with the medication until I realized that the panic did not start until about two hours after taking the medication. I made the association when I realized I had forgotten to take my medication one morning. I was thinking about the fact that I had awakened with no anxiety and had experienced no anxiety all day. I realized a couple hours later (evening) that I had forgotten to take my medicine. I waited until the next morning to take my medication and two hours after taking it was arguing with myself over whether I would need to take my antianxiety medication. Has anyone else had similar problems with Amaryl or any other medication? |

When you were having these panic attacks, did you happen to check your blood sugar? Amaryl stimulates your pancreas to produce more insulin, and in effect, it's almost like you're giving yourself a shot of insulin. Thus, when you take Amaryl it has the risk of causing significant hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Jacob Milbradt, PharmD www.MrMedSaver.com |

Thanks for the info on this one Mr Med. It seems my aunt was having a similar issue to this and I just got online to check for more info and stumbled across this thread. |
