Subject: Strange technique

Apparently, Multiple Sclerosis has been linked with aberrations in the c-curve of the cervical spine. I read about a doctor in Europe who will fuse your cervical spine back into the c-curve it's supposed to have and as a result has a high success rate in curing MS. Although of course, you then can't turn your neck. What a trade off!!

I know Dr Palmer, the guy who's the father of Chiropractic, was talking about adjusting the cervical spine as a way to help with MS as early as the '30's, but fusing your spine seems over the top.

I would have to see a lot of scientific evidence to believe this one. Do you have any links to the sources for this information?

Yeah this sounds a little too alike chiropratic to me to actually sound like real science. I don't hold much sway in the technique unfortunately and thus would also need a lot of convincing to believe in it.

Halle, I did find something about the Dr Palmer thing at this link http://www.erinelster.com/articles.aspx?ArticleID=278

On the cervical spine surgery, I originally saw something about this on a show--I think it was the Discovery Channel. But I found a few links online about it:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10981751

I don't know if I'd want to try something this drastic no matter what my condition.

I really wish this was found sooner for my uncle who's mother is having horrid times with MS. Right now she's been stuck in a wheel chair for the past 3 years and doc's are losing hope for her already. :(

What do you think?
