Subject: | Spring Allergies | |
I can't believe that my spring allergies are already kicking into high gear. My eyes are itchy and watery. My nose feels stuffy. Running the air conditioner seems to help, but I hate to run it when it's not that hot outside. I use a generic allergy pill that seems to do okay, but I have to take it every four hours. Any suggestions? |

An inexpensive air filter for us worked wonders for awhile. Then we moved and found that we didn't need it anymore. |

Try the generic version of Claritin (loratadine) or Zyrtec. Both of these work for 24 hours (or close enough) and both work well without drowsiness. I've used both with success but the loratadine was absolutely the best for a long time. Then my body became immune to it, unfortunately. If you only have seasonal allergies, you won't have to take the medication year round so your body won't be able to develop an immunity to it. |

The only reason I am not in the same boat is that it rained for most of the morning here today. For some people I know the rain kicks things up, but for me they slow down. |
