Subject: | Source for information on bursitis? | |
My friend has been having major problems with her elbow for the past two months. This weekend, though, it became really painful, beyond what it has been before. She thinks it may be bursitis because someone told her that. What is bursitis exactly? |

Bursitis it caused by the inflammatin of the lubricating fluid sac (bursa) located between bones, muscles, tendons and even skin. The bursa sac decreases the rubbing and friction as the two tissues move against each other. Bursitis can be caused by repetitive impact on an area or a sudden, serious injury. Bursitis can also develop due to aging. As tendons are they tolerate less stress, lose elasticity and are easier to tear. |

You can also develop an infection in the area-my father suffered this. It eventually burst which was absolutely freaking disgusting-but it healed quickly afterwards. Before that it was really painful. |
