Subject: | Severe Acne | |
I have a friend in her late 20's who went to bed with a clear face and woke up the next morning with her face broke out with acne (according to the ER doctor). I have never heard of anyone breaking out with acne that fast. She literally looked like the kid we used to cruelly call, 'pizza face' in school. Has any ever heard of such a severe onset so quickly before? |

Doesn't sound much like acne. Sounds like some kind of allergic reaction or rash. I've never heard of it breaking out that fast and that aggressively. |

I would be thinking the same, 24hrs is very quick for something like that to happen. Are you sure thats what they said after testing it? |

If she went to an ER, chances are no one actually tested anything. She should see her regular doctor or possibly even a dermatologist. |

She's not pregnant is she. I had a friend who broke out with severe acne like that during her pregnancey and it was overnight. She does need to see a dermatologist though to prevent serious scarring. |

I know some doctors will go ahead and refer you from the ER to a specialist but I only know that has happened to one friend of mine. |

I don't think unless there is something really "off" about a person that any ER does tests other than what looks to be logical. If its something that really did spring up over night something more intense would be needed, like Missy said a trip to the derm. might be best. |
