One of my sons has suffered severe psoriasis since he was a toddler. Sunlight makes a significant difference but this has been a long winter. The doctor prescribed Doak oil which works but during the summer makes him very sensitive to sunlight so we mainly use it during the winter months. He has spots virtually everywhere on his body at times where he is covered by clothes and up in his hair. It doesn't seem to make any difference what he eats. His twin brother has had I believe one spot of it in his entire life and that's it. They are fourteen years old now. I would love to hear reasonable ideas from others on treating this irritating problem |

The best thing you can do is educate yourself on it. And remember psoriasis is not life threatening and you are not alone. Millions of people have psoriasis. One treatment I found interesting was using calcipotriol (also called MC903, calcipotriene, and Dovonex) is the most widely used. Calcipotriol is 100 to 200 times less likely than calcitriol to cause side effects. Calcipotriol has been proven safe and effective in children aged 2 to 14 years; Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1997.
