Subject: Patrick Swayze Cancer Diagnose: 5 weeks to live

Reports are out that actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The story first published by the National Enquirer, stated Patrick Swayze has only 5 weeks to live, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in January and the cancer had spread to other organs of his body. According to an insider, the cancer has failed to respond to the radical chemo treatments. Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor within the pancreatic gland and each year over 30,000 individuals in the United States are diagnosed with this condition. The prognosis is generally regarded as poor, with only few still alive five years after diagnosis, while complete remission still extremely rare.

That is very sad news. I still have hopes that the story is embelished. The National Enqirer is not exactly the most reputable source.

Wow, that is stunning news and if it is true I pray that he and his family get through it.

I just saw him on Oprah the other day and he looked great and was joking around.

It's hard to believe that he has terminal cancer.

Here is the video of Patrick Swayze surprising a newlywed couple that is dancing to the "Dirty Dancing" theme;

It's funny when he starts dancing with the guy’s wife and you can tell she is totally star struck.

Here see for yourself:

Reports have confirmed that Swayze does have pancreatic cancer but is not as bad as the National Enquirer report.

From MSN Entertainment:

A representative for Patrick Swayze says he is being treated for pancreatic cancer but is well enough to continue working. The "Dirty Dancing" actor has a very limited amount of disease and appears to be responding well to treatment, according to Dr. George Fisher, Swayze's physician.

The doctor's prognosis was included in a statement released Wednesday by Swayze's representative, Annett Wolf.

"Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far, the statement read. "All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic. Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

The 55-year-old Swayze has starred in a number of well-known movies including "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing."

The actor has two projects in the works: the movie "Powder Blue," and a television movie titled "The Beast," according to the Web site imdb.com. Both are scheduled for release this year.

He was never the best actor but always had a great sense of humor about himself...made him very likable.

He's had some great moments onscreen.

I haven't seen all of his movies, but of course I wish him the best of health.

My favourite moments in his career so far are in Dirty Dancing and the SNL skit with Chris Farley as the Chippendale wannabes.
