Check this out! A good reason to remember to protect your skin when you are out in the sun. Wear sunscreen on your face and a hat to protect your head. This study shows the most deadly melanoma skin cancers are found on the scalp and neck. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_63683.html |

There is no such thing as too much sun block. Make sure its water and or sweat proof if you are going to be active or in the sun. I have caked sun block on before only for it to disappear the second I hit the water. Needless to say, I was a little red. |

I have known several people that have had melanoma, one that died from it. If you could have seen the pain these people went through to have growths and patches of skin removed, Im sure you would be convinced to wear sun screen. |

Bullfrog is the best hands down for both in the water and being active. It is very long lasting so you only have to apply it once. |

Try and not rely on the idea that most deadly skin cancers are on the head and neck, as being skin that is exposed the most. My father had it on his back, in a place that was usually covered by a shirt. He did go to the beach a lot and he was fair skinned. We clung to the idea that the growth he had wasn't where they said "bad" cancers grew and we were heartbroken when the news came in that it was melanoma. |

My husband and I have both had spots removed from our skin. Now I'm very careful to wear sunscreen but I have to remind him all the time. I guess I need to wear a hat to protect my scalp. My husband is very good about wearing a hat and hopefully I'll do better about that myself. |
