Subject: | Immune to the Flu | |
I know a man in his mid forties who has never had the flu in his entire life. He claims to be immune which seems to make sense under the circumstances. I wish I was immune. I've never heard of this before though. |

Believe it or not, I've recently learned that there are a lot of people who have never actually had the true influenza virus. Most people get a stomach bug and call it the flu but it's a different virus. |

Or else they have a cold and think its flu. It shouldn't be confused-a stomach illness is never the flu. The flu is an upper respiratory illness and the only stomach symptoms should come from the stomach not being able to handle the excess mucous-so you vomit. That is most common in the under fives. |

I think I would guess its possible but not highly possible, I figure luck would be more on the persons side as well. Or they just have a very good immune system and we need to learn their secrets. :) |
