they were talking morbidly obese as well. I saw another CME on this. they llnked yeast infections, ulcerations, bed sores, skin rashes ebcause morbidly obese beyond teh norm are becoming a bigger population than orioginbaly thought. Its base don hygiene problems and personal care as well as secondary diseases like undiagnosed type 2 diabetes and staph infections. Dislocations and fractures were based on weight baring problems. I have seen on teh med web sits people weighting as much as 600 pounds with a liteny of secondary complications and problems. Most wer ealso put on diets and psychiatric counseling. Ijust cant image being that heavy.. ok so I once weighed 310....... |

Well, DUH! My sister has both hips that have terrible arthritis. All the cartilage is gone and she is in a lot of pain all the time, every day, every moment. She was told to have her hips replaced five years ago, but her doctor told her that she would have to lose weight before he could guarantee that the operations would be optimally successful. All this was known years ago. Why was yet another study done? Well, my sister's story didn't turn out well, she lost al the weight she needed. But as she was just ten pounds away from her goal she started to have a lot of gas so she changed her diet and that didn't help. The gas turned out to be colon cancer so she's stuck in the wheelchair forever. They won't operate on her while taking chemo and she will never not be taking chemo because that's the only thing fighting the cancer. As for not being able to think about being so heavy? The people who are that heavy also can't imagine being so heavy. No one wakes up one day and says I want to be overweight and miserable. To even think that, is just ridicules. Did you think that when you were terribly overweight? |
