Subject: | Exercise, fresh air, and depression | |
I've been suffering from depression for a while now, it started as post-partum depression, and now I think it's just situational/chemical. I've made myself go outside and get fresh air for at least 20 minutes everyday this week, and I've been exercising, and man, what a difference. After a week, I'm feeling like a different person. It's amazing. Now I just hope to keep it up. |

I wish that I could share your success, though I am pleased for you, that you have found it. I need something to help me cope right now, and I am thinking that it's going to take something rather stronger than fresh air. |

I am the same way with seasonal depression as well as other stress/depression issues. I find that even making myself go out in the cold while its sunny can help out alot. Its not always fun but you can feel better afterward. |

For me some moderate exercise and a breath of fresh air do wonders. I find winters rather difficult when the weather is always lousy and I might not get to be outside doing anything for several consecutive weeks. |

Yeah, I think part of it has been the weather this year. It's been unusually grey this year. Just so much darkness. We had a nice day yesterday, and it was amazing what sitting out all afternoon did for my spirits. |

A nice day is always a big pick up, and of course exercise causes the release of endorphins that help to make you feel good as well. So it makes sense, and I hope it continues to work for you. |

I am so glad to hear that this little change is making you feel better. I too am suffering from post natal depression and my situation is not helping matters either. Maybe I will take what you did this week, and do it myself, even if I just sit out in the garden for a while. |
