Subject: | Do you think we are winning the war against HIV/AIDS? | |
It seems as if depending on who or what you read, we are either winning, or losing the war, against HIV/AIDS. I recently read an article,http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/triage/2008/08/facing-up-to-ou.html, that says we have failed. Notwithstanding this article, it is true that folks who would have long died have benefited from the use of antiretoviral drugs and new infections rates have remained flat for a long time. |

To a certain extent I think we're winning the war against HIV/AIDS but we still have a long ways to go. Things might be better in some countries than other but some places like Africa you can hardly tell if there is any kind of headway. |

I wonder why we have HIV/AIDS. There is no such disease in the past and then one day, it suddenly surfaced. It is scary to know that we have another addition to the list of terminal diseases. This is another disease that I think where we won't find any treatment for it. |

I think many people have truly benefited from the new meds they have available. I also believe that we are winning the fight with HIV/AIDS at least more so than we ever have since its discovery. |

I think we are now much more educated than we ever used to be, and thus the problem has decreased greatly. However, HIV/AIDS are still out there and so the battle continues... |

I think we have more education about it, but as far as winning the war against it I do not know about that. |
