Most of the "free" detergents made by regular brands are sufficient if your allergies and sensitivities are to scents and dyes. If you are allergic to specific chemicals it could be harder to find something. Seventh Generation is an organic/natural brand of cleaners and household products that is also great. Also a detergent called Dreft is also sold for babies sensitive skin as is All baby (with a rubber duck on the front). |

We used "Dreft" for the longest time with our baby girl but when stopped using it when we purchased a High Efficiency (he) washer. We now use "Seventh Generation" which is non-toxic, biodegradable, hypo-allergenic, phosphate free, and is a high efficiency detergent. Most importantly you are helping the enviroment :) You can click here to read more about there laundry detergent on their website: http://www.seventhgeneration.com/Laundry-Detergent |

carybyrd I did the same thing but not for a baby, for me really. I seem to be allergic to most of the common ones like Tide and so on, Dreft ended up losing its touch though for me and now I am on the hunt again and I do have a HE washer, I will have to check that site out. |

The Seventh generation I haven't seen on sale-is it just an online thing or are some stores more likely to carry it than others? |
