Subject: | Constipation | |
I don't want to hit meds. I've had problems for a few days with a very bloated, tender abdomen, and I know I'm constipated. Yesterday I didn't eat much to avoid making it worse. I took some fibre supplements and drank a lot. Is there anything non gassy that I could eat, that might help? This is a last ditch before I try meds. |

You could try things like drinking a warm glass of milk (I have tried it and it worked), others have said to add in some castol oil (but things like that make me nervous). |

I've always found that eating something greasy (like deep-fried or pizza) can help relieve constipation. If this is a regular event, you should try drinking more water on a daily basis. |

Certain foods will help too like prunes-they have my daughter on the loo within an hour. Castor oil does work but is absolutely disgusting to take and can have you going back to the loo for hours on end. |

Prunes and figs are both natural ways to relieve constipation and work that way on just about everyone. Just be careful to not overdo and give it time to work. Fig newton cookies always work for me but they aren't good for my waistline. |

I would think that plumes/prunes both would work pretty quick as well as some of the high end fiber cereals that they have on the market now. |
