Subject: | Conjunctivitis 'pink eye' | |
Quite a few persons in my neck of the woods have been contracting this condition. It is really hard not to catch it once you come into contact with a carrier. I didn't realize I touched my eyes so much until I started making an effort not to. |

It stays on hard surfaces for quite a while, too. If someone is infected, make a point to wash the doorknobs, the phone and any hard surfaces that they regularly touch. Wipe the eye with a tea wash several times a day if you feel like you are being exposed as it can take care of it before it gets started. |

There are different types of pink eye. Those caused by allergens are not contagious; however, those caused by bacterial or viral infections must be treated by antibiotics and are highly contagious. |

Is pink eye related close to when you get an sty? I have noticed those in my group of friends tend to get one then the other almost all the time. |

I don't know what is 'an sty'. Maybe I know it by another name. I agree with CallieO, it does stay on surfaces long. I have been advised to be careful in handling cash too. I normally wash my hands after handling money. Now I avoid touching anything until after I have washed my hands. |

I believe that a sty is an infection in the base of the eyelash. Its frequently linked to not getting enough sleep, because it lets the body get run down and therefore more vulnerable. |
