Subject: | Chronic Shingles | |
When i was 36 I developed Shingles on my face and scalp. It was like someone constantly punching me and the joint pain was just immense. Now many eyars laterI still have shingles. I am hoping it does nto get to the external nose and stays internally. The same nerve in my scalp is always affected and it always either itches or feels like I beaned myself on the freezer door. teh first time i was on zovirax it worked. then when i had two sever breakouts, teh medicine didint work. So now I am up to using topicals and shampoos to quell the heat and inflammation. Thsi is just aheads up that if you get shingles when you are young, it doesnt go away! |

Here is some more info via Wikipedia: Topical lotions containing calamine can be used on the rash or blisters and may be soothing. Occasionally, severe pain may require an opioid medication, such as morphine. Once the lesions have crusted over, capsaicin cream (Zostrix) can be used. Topical lidocaine and nerve blocks may also reduce pain. |

Even when you are older, the pain from shingles can become chronic-that is the most common of all complications arising from shingles. |

One study said that, since the population is getting older, then more people will be suffering from shingles. So we all might as well do some research to see what the future holds in store for more and more of us. I had a friend who got it in her late twenties, and she said it was the worst pain she ever felt. |
