Subject: Chronic Hives

Visiting the allergy doctor has been a real education for me.

He told me that I might be suffering from something they simply classify as chronic hives, which is more a description than a diagnosis.

I thought he was kidding but hes told me that there are many people who suffer from rashes and outbreaks, some terribly severe, with no apparent cause.

Do you know anyone who suffers with this condition?

I think the operative phrase here is no apparent cause. Honestly I would go somewhere for a second opinion. I suffered from hives growing up as a teen and it took us decades to figure out the real cause. We found out the source by accident. It was those wonderful wool blankets that were on my bed. I am not however allergic to wool. I can't sleep with wool blankets in my face yet I could probably sleep in a pile of sheep. Turns out I'm allergic to the chemicals that are used in cleaning and processing the wool.

What do you think?
