Subject: | Chronic Cough | |
I have had a cough the last several months so I decided to do a little research on chronic coughing. I found that Some common causes of chronic cough include asthma, allergic rhinitis, sinus problems (for example sinus infection), and esophageal reflux of stomach contents. I think I narrowed the cause of my cough down to a post nasal drip. Post–nasal drip is a mucus accumulation in the back of the nose and throat leading giving the sensation of mucus dripping downward from the back of the nose. Post nasal drip is characterized by persistent irritation and inflammation of the lining tissues of the nose. Does anyone know of any OTC solutions to my problem? |

I would think that an anihistime would work for something like that. If not, maybe you're allergic to something in your house. |

The thing that has helped me more than anything is saline sinus rinsing. Not the plain saline spray, but the ones that include a plastic bottle and little packets of gentle salt. It not only gets allergens and phlegm from the nose, but reduces the swelling. Which means, for me, less post nasal drip and less coughing. |

I get bronchitis every year, usually around winter time. It lasts pretty long every time I get it. I usually have to go to the doctor to get anti-biotic. Just see your doctor for some medicine. If you can't go to your doctor, think about picking up some throat spray. I forget the name of it but it works pretty well. It's in a red bottle, and you can buy it almost anywhere, CVS, Target, Walmart, Acme, anywhere! |
