Subject: Awareness

I often wonder if we are doing enough when it comes to educating the public. Sometimes I hear parents talking about sex ed in schools, they don't want it, well then how will their kids understand what STD's are? I know we can do more but it seems like people just do not seem to care enough, unless if effects them or someone close to them. Are we being blind here, deaf and dumb to it?

I think we could certainly do more to make children and the public in general aware of STDs, AIDs, and other such dangerous and life threatening diseases. I think with subjects like these, maybe people just find it hard to talk about and that explains some of the problem.

I have no objection to teaching sex education in school. I respect people who do however if they don't want schools to teach the subject they had better be prepared to teach their children all of that themselves. Your kids need to know.

I see no reason why it should not be done either but I have no issues if a parent does not wish their child in the class. I do still think teachers can only do some, parents need to play a role just the same.
