The problem with articles like this is that it never states that even if you take all the precautions you can still end up with cancer. A great many non smokers do get lung cancer, vegetarians do get colon cancer, people with no breast cancer in their family do get breast cancer. People have to be told that while taking care of yourself like, exercising, eating right, getting all the screening, knowing your family history, not smoking, being a good weight, will NOT guarantee that you will not get cancer. People who follow all these rules and end up with cancer feel betrayed and lied to. Yes, take care of yourself but just because you do does not mean that you will live to be 100 years old and cancer free. |

Skatss, you can go ahead and break all the rules. Maybe you won't get cancer. But I believe it will improve the chances of getting cancer by leap and bound if you do it all. As the environments are very polluted nowadays, including the air we breathe in and the water contamination we have, as a result cancer is very rampant. That is why those air filter systems and water filters are selling very well. |

Flowerhorn, I hope your belief works out for you and that your life remains cancer free. But I've known too many people who have done everything that is suggested and they end up with cancer taking chemo and radiation and blaming themselves for their cancer. The victim of cancer ends up blaming themselves for the cancer when in reality you cannot really control what happens, there are too many factors involved to control getting a disease or not. We cannot control if we get cancer. We can do our best to stay healthy but some articles suggest that if you do get cancer it's because you didn't do enough. I wonder if you've had any dealing with cancer in your family or with friends. Unfortunately, I have dealt with a lot of cancer and have seen many people die from it. Some of these people were thin, healthy, exercised and did everything else. I just don't think it's fair to suggest that if someone does all the "right" things then they will not get cancer and if they do end up with cancer then it's their fault for not doing enough. |

I have many relatives and friends that have strike with cancer. Life is always not fair. What can we do about it? Nothing! As we live on this planet earth which is highly polluted, this disease strike us without any prejudices and know no boundaries. It is a response as to what we did to mother nature. It is pay back time. I don't know about you but I would try to keeping the chance of getting it by implementing the things mentioned in the article. It might work and it might not. However, I don't find them too difficult to do and they are beneficial to my health as well. I might be getting cancer even though I am practicing them but at least I am doing something about it. |
